My name is Donald Farland and I am a fan of the Boston Red Sox. For much of my young life I didn't fully appreciate the severity of my illness until Dave Henderson's home run against the Angels in the '86 ALCS. I vividly remember dropping to both knees in the living room and praying to God with all my might for a home run. Ironically, that moment did more to make me one of the Fenway faithful than it did to boost my attendance in church.
